Hastings, Minn. (The Weekly Vice) - Edith Hancock, a 33-year-old Minnesota woman, was jailed Monday after she allegedly asked an officer if she could "do some heroin" while she was detained on a shoplifting charge.
According to police, officers were dispatched to a west side Walmart Monday night after store employees watched her walk into a changing room with several clothing items, then attempting to leave while wearing the outfit.
Hancock was stopped by store security officers after she also allegedly tried to place several cosmetic items in her purse.
After officers brought Hancock to a local precinct for questioning, she stated that she was 3 months pregnant and repeatedly asked officers if she could have "just one more blow."
During the booking process, deputies found approximately 10 bags of heroin in Hancock's purse. When confronted with the evidence, Hancock reportedly asked officers if she could keep one of the bags of heroin.
Hancock was booked into jail and charged with felony possession of a controlled substance and misdemeanor She was later released on a signature bond and is due back in court on Feb 18.
