Raleigh, N.C. (The Weekly Vice) - Lisa Marie Finch, a 27-year-old North Carolina woman, has been jailed after she allegedly set fire to a two-family home while her four children and three adults were inside.
According to the Wake County Sheriff's Office, fire and rescue crews were dispatched to a two bedroom home that exploded into flames back in February 2012.
Rescue crews arrived in time to save Finch's four children who lived in one side of the burning duplex. Three adults who lived on the other side of the duplex were also successful in safely exiting the inferno.
No casualties were reported and Finch publicly thanked rescue crews who risked their lives to assist her family.
"Thank you to the police officer that helped me and my kids out of the window," said Finch. "Thank you, he saved my family from disaster."
At the time, the cause of the Blaze was unknown. But nearly two years - and a lengthy investigation - later, detectives believe they know what started the fire. Lisa Marie Finch.
Investigators believe Finch intentionally started the fire at her residence, although her reasons for doing so are still not clear.
Court records also show that Finch was convicted in 2008 for her involvement in an arson case that occurred in 2005. In that case she was given a suspended sentence and placed on probation.
Finch was booked into jail and charged with two counts of first-degree arson. She remains held in lieu of $50,000 bond.
