Albuquerque, New Mexico (The Weekly Vice) - Lillie Smith, an 84-year-old Albuquerque woman, has been indicted on drug charges after she was allegedly popped during a drug sting operation back in 2011.
According to the Bernalillo County Sheriff's Office, detectives obtained a search warrant in and raided Smith's home after suspecting her son, Nathan Jones, of dealing narcotics.
When officers entered the home, they found an unspecified amount cocaine and marijuana on Smith, which she tried to hide during the search.
Investigators say detectives recovered scales, cash, narcotics, and other drug paraphernalia believed to be connected to trafficking from Smith's residence.
Although Smith's son was arrested and jailed, Smith was released from custody because of a medical condition at the time.
This week, however, a Bernalillo County grand jury indicted her and she was subsequently taken into custody.
Smith was booked into jail and charged with trafficking, conspiracy to commit trafficking, tampering with evidence, and possession. She was released after posting bond. According to online public records, she plead guilty to trafficking in the 90s.
