Susan Tinker Was The April Fool - Jailed After Reporting Robbery As April Fools Prank

Hampton, Virginia (The Weekly Vice) - Susan Alexandria Tinker, a 21-year-old Waffle House employee, was jailed Monday after she allegedly called 911 to report a robbery - but police later determined that it was nothing more than an April Fools Day joke.

According to Hampton Police, officers were dispatched to the Hampton Inn Waffle House at around 6 a.m. after 911 operators received a report that the restaurant had just been robbed.

When officers arrived on the scene, they called in a k9 unit to search for the alleged robber and went door to door to see if anyone had seen a man fleeing from the scene. After reviewing surveillance camera footage, investigators determined that no robbery had occurred.

During a police interview at the scene, Tinker admitted that no robbery had occurred and that she called 911 as an April Fools day prank. She was immediately taken into custody and marched to a patrol car.

Tinker was booked into jail and charged with falsely summoning police. If convicted, she could face up to 12 months in jail and/or a fine of up to $2,500.
