Stephen Brown - Jailed After Threatening To Blow Up Building Because Woman Refused To Go Out With Him

Santa Cruz, Ca (The Weekly Vice) - Stephen Brown, a 72-year-old California man, was jailed Monday when he threatened to blow up a government building because a congressman's aid refused to go out with him.

According to the Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office, Brown walked into a the office of California Congressman Sam Farr and proceeded to ask his aid out on a lunch date.

When she refused his offer, he walked out of the office stating that he was going to wait for Congressman Farr and then "blow up the county building."

Deputies responded to the scene after the aid called 911. A county-wide alert was issued to local law enforcement agencies while they attempted to locate Brown.

He was arrested a few hours later when deputies found him at a military recruiting office in Capitola.

Brown was booked into jail and charged with making a bomb threat and a terroristic threat. Investigators later determined that Brown did not have the means or material capacity to blow his nose, let alone alone blow up a county building.

His bond has been set at $10,000
