The Weekly Vice) - Robert Bodiddlie Ball, a 49-year-old Florida man, was jailed Monday after he allegedly took his estranged wife on a date ........... at knife-point.
According to police, 52-year-old Janet Ball told her father that she was going to visit her estranged husband and discuss property issues with him after she decided had to end their marriage.
When she arrived at her husband's home, however, the discussion turned into an argument.
That's when Robert Ball punched his wife in the head, knocking her to the ground. When Janet tried to get back to her feet, Robert pushed her back to the ground and began kicking her in the stomach.
Investigators say Robert Ball then grabbed his wife by the hair and propped her up against a wall. He then pulled a knife out of his pocket, put it to her throat, and demanded that she sit next to him while he watched television.
At around 5 p.m. Robert Ball forced his wife to drive to Golden Corral where the two had dinner. He then took his wife to Walmart and bought her a new pair of shoes while reminding her that he had a knife in his pocket.
When the couple returned to Ball's residence two hours later, Janet Ball's father knocked at the door, concerned about his daughter's well-being.
When Robert Ball answered the door, the victim shouted a warning to her father that Ball had a gun inside the house. A scuffle ensued, which allowed Janet Ball to escape the home. Both Janet and her father jumped into a car and fled the scene.
Janet told officers that Robert Ball was standing in the doorway of his home pointing a rifle at them as they drove away.
Robert Ball was booked into jail and charged with aggravated assault, false imprisonment, domestic battery and tampering with a witness. His bail has been set at $70,000.
