The Weekly Vice) - Lester Davis, a 57-year-old Wentzville man was jailed Tuesday after he allegedly shot at a customer at a local barbershop during a disagreement over the Sandy Hook School shooting.
According to the Wentzville Police Department, Davis was at the All Cuts Barber Shop discussing the Sandy Hook school shooting with other customers when an argument broke out between the men.
When one of the men stated that he wanted to "murder the suspect," Davis took exception with the statement and responded by saying "you want to murder me?"
That's when Davis walked out to his car and returned with a loaded 9mm Smith and Wesson.
Before the victim could flee the barber shop, Davis fired off three rounds in his direction. He then reportedly pointed toward the victim and stated "I'll let you slide" before fleeing the scene.
The victim was not injured in the altercation.
Davis was booked into jail and charged with first-degree assault, armed criminal action, and unlawful possession of a weapon. He is currently being held in lieu of a $400,000 cash-only bond.
According to court records, in 1975, Davis was convicted of second-degree homicide and unlawful possession of a weapon in Middlesex County, New Jersey. He has also been involved in numerous verbal altercations with neighbors, resulting in an order of protection being issued against him.
