Henry County, Georgia (The Weekly Vice) - Yvette Lucas, a 51-year-old McDonough woman was jailed after she allegedly encouraged her 14-year-old granddaughter to overdose on Tylenol after the teen complained that she wanted to commit suicide.
According to the Henry County Police Department, the teenager reportedly told Lucas that she had ingested a large amount of Tylenol in attempt to commit suicide.
In response to the teen's announcement, Lucas reportedly told the girl to ingest more Tylenol.
Lucas then allowed the girl to go to sleep, despite all the pills she had taken.
Investigators say the next day, a family friend noticed that the girl wasn't feeling well and immediately called 911.
Lucas denied the allegations against her, and claimed that her granddaughter was mentally unstable. Investigators, however, stated that Lucas should have called paramedics for the girl after learning about the number of pills she had consumed.
Lucas was booked into the Henry County Jail and charged with first-degree cruelty to children. She was released without bond.
