Fort Myers, Florida (The Weekly Vice) - Dejuan Anderson, a 20-year-old Fort Myers man was jailed after he allegedly walked into a police department wielding a machete.
According to Fort Myers Police, Anderson walked into the station around 7:20 a.m., asked for a police officer by name and then pulled out a machete.
Two officers were entering the building when they saw Anderson wielding the weapon. Anderson then stood up and began swinging the weapon around towards the officers.
Investigators say police ordered Anderson to drop the weapon, but he refused. When Anderson began getting closer to the officers, one of them attempted to stop him by deploying his Taser, but Anderson pulled the Taser darts out and continued to wield the machete.
Another officer deployed his Taser which caused Anderson to finally drop the machete.
While officers were attempting to handcuff Anderson, he continued to kick at them and resist arrest. They carried him to the patrol car, and he was transported to jail.
Anderson then provided officers with a false name, however a fingerprint scan revealed his true identity.
Anderson was booked into the Lee County Jail and charged with two counts of assault on an officer, fraud, resisting arrest without violence, and providing a false name to a law enforcement officer.
