Vero Beach, Florida (The Weekly Vice) - Brenda Crosdale, a 49-year-old Vero Beach woman was jailed after she allegedly called 911 and claimed that a child was locked inside a car.
Police later discovered that there was no child locked inside a car. She simply wanted officers to hurry up and unlock her vehicle for her.
According to the Indian River County Sheriff's Office, officers responded to a "priority one" lockout call at Crosdale's residence after she called 911, claiming that an infant was trapped inside her vehicle. When officers arrived on the scene around 9:00 a.m., they did not find a child inside the car.
Investigators say officers questioned a man on the scene, who stated that Crosdale only told police that there was a child in the car to get them to respond more quickly. When officers questioned Crosdale, she admitted that she had lied.
Crosdale was booked into jail and charged with misuse of the 911 system. She was released after posting a $500 bond.
