Jacksonville, Florida (The Weekly Vice) - Warren Thomas Michael III, a 23-year-old Fleming Island man was jailed for DUI Saturday after he was attacked by a pet squirrel.
According to the Clay County Sheriff's Office, deputies were dispatched after a witness reported that a man in a silver pick-up truck "with one headlight out" was driving erratically.
A deputy caught up with the vehicle and watched as the driver, identified as Michael, nearly crashed head-on with another vehicle traveling the opposite direction.
When the deputy pulled Michael over and approached the vehicle, Michael stated that he was driving erratically because a squirrel "was eating him."
That's when Michael allegedly revealed a pet squirrel inside his shirt that had apparently bitten him several times.
The deputy, however, still smelled a strong odor of alcohol and administered several field sobriety tests, which Michael failed. He later registered a .156 blood-alcohol level, nearly twice the state's legal limit.
Michael was booked into the Clay County Jail and charged with driving a vehicle under the influence of alcoholic beverages and/or a controlled substance. He was alter released to his girlfriend.
