Richard Owens - Booked into jail Twice In Same Day After Attempting To Break Into Vehicle In Jail Parking Lot

Land O'Lakes, Florida (The Weekly Vice) - Richard Owens, an 18-year-old Tampa Bay area man was jailed Friday after he allegedly tried to break into a car sitting in a jail parking lot minutes after he was released from confinement.

According to the Pasco County Sheriff's Office, Owens was booked into jail after he was caught trespassing and was released a few hours later. That's when an officer noticed Owens peeking into the windows of a truck located in the jail parking lot.

Investigators say Owen's then tried to open the door of a Pontiac GTO, but it was locked. When the officer questioned him, he stated that the vehicle belonged to a friend. The officer was aware, however, that the vehicle belonged to a deputy who worked at the jail.

Owens was booked into jail and charged with auto burglary. His bail was set at $5,000.
