Deltona, FL (The Weekly Vice) - Stan Nguyen, a 54-year-old Florida man was jailed Friday after he allegedly held an air conditioner repairman at gunpoint because he was unhappy with the service he received.
According to police, air conditioner repairman Sean Hickman made an after-hours service call to Nguyen's residence after Nguyen reported that his air conditioner wasn't working properly.
Upon arriving at the residence, Hickman determined that the unit's compressor was unrepairable and that a new compressor would need to be ordered and installed.
This news didn't sit well with Nguyen, who immediately accused the repairman of "blowing up his air conditioner."
When the serviceman returned from his truck with a service call bill, all hell broke loose.
That's when Nguyen allegedly grabbed a pistol, pointed it towards the ground and attempted to fire off a warning shot. The attempt failed because Nguyen at forgotten to release the gun's safety.
After releasing the safety Nguyen pointed the gun at the repairman and threatened "I will shoot you in the back if you leave," according to an arrest affidavit.
The repairman ran behind his service van and called 911. At about the same time, Nguyen called to his son (who was inside the residence) to call 911.
Nguyen was booked into the Volusia County Jail and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. His bail has been set at $5,000
