Columbus, OH (The Weekly Vice) - Thomas Edwards, a 60-year-old Ohio man was jailed Sunday after he allegedly shot his wife to death because she didn't get out of bed to buy a new car.
According to police, officers were dispatched to the couple's home after Edwards called 911 and confessed to shooting his wife to death.
Investigators say an argument started between the couple when he asked his wife to get out of bed so that they could purchase a new car.
When his wife refused to get out of bed, Edwards left the room to smoke a cigarette. He then returned to the room with a handgun and shot his wife four times.
Edwards called 911 moments later, stating that he wanted to shoot himself. He also told the dispatcher "I don't want to go to jail for the rest of my life."
Officers arrived at the scene and took Edwards into custody without incident.
He was booked into jail and charged with aggravated murder. His bond has been set at $750,000.
