Palm Coast, Fla. (The Weekly Vice) - Thelma Wagenhoffer, a 76-year-old Florida woman has been charged with careless driving after she allegedly crashed through the front doors of a local Publix Grocery Store, injuring 10 shoppers.
According to police, Wagenhoffer's 2004 Toyota Camry crashed through the front doors of the grocery store while several unsuspecting shoppers waited near the store's entrance.
The store's security camera caught the incident as store employees and customers mobilized to assist those who were injured.
One bystander, Lupo Mario Hernandez, 83, became trapped under the car as it skidded into the store. Publix manager, Dan Schill, quickly organized several onlookers into a rescue team that was able to life the car off of Hernandez and pull him to safety.
The crash also injured a 3-month-old baby who was rushed to a nearby hospital. Officials did not release the name of the hospital and the baby's condition is currently unknown. Several other victims of the crash are listed in fair condition or have already been treated and released.
