Teresa Aguayo - Jailed After Beating Store Clerk Over Bottle Of Beer


Costa Mesa, California (The Weekly Vice) - Teresa Aguayo, a 46-year-old Orange County woman was jailed Sunday after she allegedly attacked a store clerk because the store couldn't sell her an individual bottle of beer.

According to the Costa Mesa Police Department, Aguayo reportedly entered the California Stop and asked the clerk to sell her a single bottle of beer.

When the clerk explained that she wasn't allowed to sell single bottles of beer, Aguayo went behind the counter and attacked the clerk.

Investigators say Aguayo hit the store clerk with a bottle, then attempted to strangle her with a blanket. She then placed the clerk in a choke hold and forced her to drink from a bottle of rubbing alcohol, then from a bottle of acetone. The victim lost consciousness during the struggle.

When the clerk regained consciousness, Aguayo allegedly sprayed her in the face with a can of bug spray.

Officers called to the scene had to pull Aguayo away from the clerk and physically restrain her. She screamed and kicked at officers while she was being apprehended. The clerk was transported to a local hospital for treatment and observation.

Aguayo was booked into the Orange County Jail and charged with attempted murder. She is currently being held in lieu of $500,000 bond.

According to court records, she has been arrested several times. Her convictions include grand theft auto, assault with a deadly weapon, resisting a public or peace officer, and corporal injury to a spouse or cohabitant.
