
Watertown, N.Y. (The Weekly Vice) - Jessica Baughman, a 21-year-old Watertown woman was jailed after she allegedly stole 12 pet fish from her grandmother and then fried them to death in a frying pan.
According to police, Baughman and her grandmother were engaged in an argument when Baughman reportedly shoved her grandmother twice and then broke a wooden object valued at about $20.
Investigators say Baughmen then retrieved 12 pet goldfish from a tank, placed them into a frying pan and fried them to death.
The victim, 63-year-old Vera Nichols, lifted a frying pan lid and showed officers the burned fish. She also showed officer a wooden statue of a wolf that was also damaged.
Baughman was booked into the Jefferson County Jail and charged with aggravated cruelty to animals, second-degree harassment, and fourth-degree criminal mischief. Her bond was set at $2,000.
