Darlene Mayes - Granny Identified And Charged As Major Drug Kingpin

Craig County, Oklahoma (The Weekly Vice) - Darlene Mayes, a 73-year-old Craig County woman was jailed after she was allegedly identified and arrested as a major Craig County drug supplier.

According to the Craig County Sheriff's Office, Mayes was reportedly part of a four-month long investigation for suspicion of trafficking marijuana when members of the county's drug task force raided her apartment and vehicle.

Investigators say detectives recovered four pounds of marijuana and more than $270,000 in cash, which Mayes tried to claim was a part of her retirement.

Detectives also recovered a semi-automatic pistol and a revolver. They believe she may be responsible for 40% of the Grand Lake area's drug trade.

Detectives say Mayes had several dealers working under her authority, including her son, who was also apprehended. Detectives believe it is possible that her network may have included other states, including Arkansas, Kansas, and Missouri.

Mayes was booked into the Craig County Jail on several charges, including possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
