Anderson, Ind. (The Weekly Vice) - Danny Davis, a 32-year-old Indiana man was jailed Monday after he allegedly decapitated a cat and then set his Aunt's house on fire.
According to Anderson Police, officers and firefighters were dispatched to an Anderson home after receiving a 911 call about a house on fire at about 4 p.m..
When officers arrived on the scene, Davis stood outside of the home with a group of people who had gathered to watch the fire. When officers approached Davis to talk to him, he reportedly attempted to flee the scene. Officers used a stun gun to stop him.
Investigators say Davis later admitted to using gasoline to start the blaze. He also admitted to using a shovel to kill the family cat before cutting off the animal's head.
Detectives found the cat's body in a shallow grave while its head was located under the deck where the fire was started.
It is believed that Davis has mental issues and had stopped taking his medications.
Davis was booked into the Madison County Jail and charged with cruelty to animals and arson.
