Memphis, Tennessee (The Weekly Vice) - Michael Gilman, an Ash Flat man, was jailed Friday after he allegedly chained his 11-year-old step-daughter to a bed for 5 weeks because she was "misbehaving".
According to the Sharp County Sheriff's Office, deputies were dispatched after receiving a 911 cal from a girl stating that she was chained to a bed, and had been for weeks.
Officers arrived to find an 11-year-old girl tied to her bed with a dog leash and chains. She was only given enough leash to use the restroom.
The victim and her 15-year-old sister stated that their mother was out of town tending to their step-sister, who just had a baby, and that their father was at work. A 6-year-old boy was also living in the home.

When detectives questioned Gilman, he stated that he had chained the child to her bed because she was getting up at night and wandering around the neighborhood. He went on to say that he chained the girl to the bed because she had behavioral problems and he was trying to gain control over her.
Both of the girls were home-schooled. Their brother attended a public school. All three children are now in protective state custody.
Gilman was booked into jail and charged with false imprisonment and endangering the welfare of a child. He was released after posting $1,000 bail.
