Billings, MT (The Weekly Vice) - Craig Benedict, a 34-year-old Montana man was jailed Wednesday after he allegedly placed methamphetamine into a coffee pot at a local tax preparation business.
According to Billings police, officers were dispatched to a local tax preparation business Wednesday after someone text messaged an employee and advised them to avoid drinking coffee from the company's coffee maker.
Investigators believe Benedict, who is a former employee of the business, laced the company coffee with methamphetamine. Up to two-dozen customers and employees may have been exposed to the jitter-mongering java.
Although detectives have gone forward with charges, the department has cautioned that final test results on the coffee have not been completed.
"We're also doing blood tests on employees and customers that drank the coffee," said Lt. Kevin Iffland. "There's no confirmation yet."
Final charges have not yet been announced by police.
