Redding, Calif. (The Weekly Vice) - William Oller Sr., a 70-year-old California man was jailed after he allegedly shot his son over his karaoke singing.
According to the Shasta County Sheriff's Office, deputies were dispatched Thursday after receiving a call of a reported shooting.
When deputies arrived at the scene, they found Oller Sr. standing outside a motor home which belongs to his 50-year-old son, William Oller Jr.
Deputies found Oller Jr. injured after he was struck at least four times with .22 caliber bullets.
Investigators say the shooting took place after Oller Sr. became angry with his son because he had been singing karaoke inside the house.
Oller Sr. reportedly went to his truck, grabbed a pistol and then pointed it at his son. A brief struggle over the gun ensued, and the gun was fired multiple times. Both men sustained gunshot wounds during the struggle.
Oller Jr. was treated at a local hospital for gunshots to his shoulder, arm and chest. He also sustained a head wound during the altercation. Oller Sr. received a minor wound to his thigh and was released into police custody.
Oller Sr. was booked into jail and charged with attempted murder. He remains held in lieu of $500,000 bond.
Oller Jr.'s attorney states that his client does not wish to see his father prosecuted.
