Lexington, NC (The Weekly Vice) - Michael Fuller, a 53-year-old North Carolina man was jailed after he tried to make a large purchase at Wal-Mart using a million-dollar bill.
According to Lexington police, Fuller reportedly attempted to check out at Walmart with numerous items, including a vacuum cleaner and a microwave oven, worth a total of $476.
He then handed the clerk a million-dollar bill, insisting that the note was real. Store employees called police after Fuller refused to admit that the bill was fake.
Currently, the $100 note is the largest U.S. bill in circulation. The largest bill in U.S. history was the $10,000 bill, which was discontinued in 1969.
Fuller was booked into jail and charged with attempting to obtain property by false pretense and uttering a forged instrument, He is being held in lieu of a $17,500 bond. He is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday.
