Provo, Utah (The Weekly Vice) - Leah Efay Davis, a 32-year-old Utah woman was jailed after she allegedly stole merchandise from a local J.C. Penny store, then told officers that she was "Rudy Huxtable" from The Cosby Show.
According to Provo police, Davis reportedly walked into a J.C. Penny store at University Mall and attempted to steal approximately $600 in merchandise, including 4 purses and 4 pairs of pajamas. Mall security officers stopped Davis before she left the store, then called the police.
When officers arrived on the scene, Davis claimed that she was the actress who played "Rudy Huxtable", Bill Cosby's youngest daughter on the 1980s sitcom "The Cosby Show". However, the actress who played Rudy is actually Keisha Knight Pulliam. Davis also told police that she owned the mall from which she shoplifted.
Davis was booked into jail and charged with felony retail theft and misdemeanor trespassing. According to court records, Davis had previously been apprehended on similar charges and was banned from entering the mall, hence the trespassing charge.
