Barry Short - Jailed For DUI After Driving Past Officer With Three-Wheeled Car


Plaistow, New Hampshire (The Weekly Vice) - Barry Short, a 22-year-old Amesbury, Massachusetts man was charged with drunk driving after he allegedly passed a patrol car in a vehicle that was missing a wheel.

According to Plaistow police, an officer was working at a traffic stop when he reportedly heard a loud noise, followed by the strange site of a car driving by slowly with its rear tire missing.

After stopping the disabled vehicle, the officer quickly realized that the car's driver was heavily intoxicated.

Investigators say that the driver, identified as Short, failed a field sobriety test performed by the officer and was apprehended. A blood alcohol test later revealed that Short was intoxicated at three times the legal limit.

During a search of his vehicle, officers also recovered a bag of marijuana and various drug paraphernalia. When officers asked Short about his missing tire, he stated that his rear tire fell off while he was driving, but he had no idea where, when, or how it happened.

Short was booked into jail and charged with drug possession and aggravated DWI. He was released on a $5,000 personal recognizance bond and is scheduled to appear in court on February 6th.
