Santa Rosa Beach, Florida (The Weekly Vice) - Sarah Zombori, 21, and Joseph Battista, 57, were jailed Saturday after they allegedly faked a kidnapping in order to get Zombori's boyfriend to pay them $100.

The boyfriend refused and instead called police.

According to the Walton County Sheriff's Office, Battista reportedly called Zombori's boyfriend and stated that he had kidnapped his girlfriend, and was holding her on a $100 ransom.

Zombori's boyfriend then called police, who went to Battista's home and discovered that he and Zambori had staged the kidnapping. The pair then told police that it was simply a prank.

Investigators say officers were not amused by the alleged joke and the suspects were apprehended. Zombori resisted arrest by kicking and striking a resident. Police also found a marijuana plant on Battista's patio.

Battista and Zombori were booked into the Walton County Jail.

Battista was charged with one count of marijuana production, and two counts of making a false report of a commission of a crime. Zombori was charged with two counts of battery of a law enforcement officer, a third-degree felony; one count of resisting a law enforcement officer with violence, and one count of making a false report of a commission of a crime.
