Suffolk, VA (The Weekly Vice) - Christine Williams-Porter, a 35-year-old Virginia woman was jailed Monday after she allegedly beat her 9-year-old son and then locked him out of the house because he misplaced a hair brush.
According to Suffolk Police, officers were dispatched Monday night after a witness called 911 to report that a child had been beaten and was screaming because he had been locked out of his house.
When officers arrived on the scene, they found a boy crying outside his home, stating that he had been locked out because he lost his mother's hair brush.
When detectives questioned Williams-Porter, she confirmed the boy's story - telling officers that the boy would not be allow inside the home.
When officers warned Williams-Porter that she could go to jail if she continues to behave in such a manner, she responded by grabbing her coat and purse in preparation for the trip to jail.
"I'd rather go to jail then let him back into this house," she told officers.
Williams-Porter was charged with felony child abuse and neglect. She was released after posting a $2,500 bond.
The 9-year-old boy and his siblings were removed from the home and temporarily placed with relatives.
