Georgetown, S.C. (The Weekly Vice) - Chance Godwin Adams, a 24-year-old South Carolina man was jailed after he allegedly grilled a stray kitten on a BBQ grill and then threatened his mother with a shotgun.
According to Georgetown Police, officers were dispatched Saturday after receiving a report of a man with a gun.
When officers arrived at the caller's home, they met with Adams' mother who stated her son had pointed a shotgun at her outside in the driveway and again inside the house.
The woman told police she feared for her life after Adams destroyed their home the previous day and continued to act "psychotic" into the next day.
Officers quickly located Adams who was outfitted in odd-matching clothes, a pair of ski goggles and a pistol holster. Officers also discovered several parts to a shotgun that were hidden inside his sock.
Detectives then inspected the family's home, where they made a disturbing discovery inside the family's backyard charcoal grill.
Investigators reportedly found the charred remains of a kitten that was apparently placed on the grill at extreme temperatures.
The mother told officers that the kitten was a stray that had been staying with the family inside their home. She also told police that the family dog had gone missing recently - all except for a bloody dog collar that had been found by Adams' sister.
Adams was booked into the Georgetown County Detention Center on charges of animal cruelty, assault and battery, breach of peace and use of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime.
