Elizabeth Robinson - Teacher - Charged With Punching Student In Face After He Tossed Pen Into Trash

Clover, Maine (The Weekly Vice) - Elizabeth Robinson, a 49-year-old teacher at Clover Middle School, is facing charges after she allegedly punched a 13-year-old student in the face because he threw away a pen.

According to the York County Sheriff's Office, Robinson became enraged Friday when a student in her class tossed a pen into a nearby trash can.

In retaliation, Robinson allegedly punched the student in the face with a closed fist. Several students approached a school resource officer after class and reported the incident. The officer then escorted Robinson from the classroom.

Investigators say Robinson admitted that she hit the student because he "misbehaved". She denied punching him, and stated that she slapped him with an open hand. The school nurse said she could see swelling on the boy’s face after the incident.

Robinson was disciplined according to district policy. She was fired, and banned from ever working in the Clover School District again. She is also facing assault and battery charges.
