Crystal Webberly - Charged With Attempting To Inject Heroin In Car With Newborn Baby In Back Seat

Holbrook, New York (The Weekly Vice) - Crystal Webberly, a 29-year-old Shirley resident was jailed Thursday after she was allegedly caught by police in her car, attempting to shoot up heroin, with her 2-month-old child in the back seat.

According to the Suffolk County Police Department, officers were preparing to run surveillance in the parking lot of a local Toys-R-Us when they reportedly saw a woman sitting in a parked vehicle with a strap tied around her arm.

When officers approached the vehicle, they saw the woman, identified as Webberly, getting ready to inject her arm with a hypodermic needle. Police stopped her before she injected the drug, which was later determined to be heroin.

In the back seat of the vehicle was Webberly's 2-month-old son. Also in the vehicle was Webberly's friend, 26-year-old Jacqueline Dattilo.

Webberly and Dattilo were both booked into jail and charged with endangering the welfare of a child, criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal possession of a hypodermic instrument. Dattilo also faces additional loitering charges. Both suspects were held overnight and are scheduled to appear in court on October 21st.
