Shreveport, La. (The Weekly Vice) - Alasundria Avery, a 19-year-old Louisiana woman (and expectant mother) was jailed after she allegedly beat her 1-year-old daughter to death because the child would not stop crying.
According to police, officers were called to LSU Health Sciences Center Friday afternoon after Avery brought the child to the ER with severe injuries. The child, who arrived at the hospital unresponsive, was pronounced dead a short time later.
"The injuries were consistent with sever beatings and abuse," said Shreveport Police spokesman, Jim Taliaferro.
Avery, who is now eight month's pregnant, was booked into the Shreveport City Jail and charged with second-degree murder.
