Deleon Springs, Florida (The Weekly Vice) - Mark Bausch, a 56-year-old Florida man assaulted a blind woman and burglarized her home - all for a pet parrot he regretted trading away.
According to the Volusia County Sheriff's Office, Bausch regretted trading his pet bird, a Sun Conure, to a 64-year-old blind woman and her mother for $50 and a computer.
Investigators say Bausch showed up at the woman's door demanding his bird back. The man argued that the computer was too slow and he missed the bird, but the woman were unwilling to reverse the trade.
In retaliation, Bausch opened the screen door, pushed the blind woman to the ground and went into her bedroom to retrieve the bird. The woman followed Bausch into her bedroom, where he shoved her to the ground again before fleeing with the bird.
The woman reportedly suffered bleeding abrasions on her arms from the intrusion, according to deputies.
The woman gave deputies a description of Bausch, his truck and his address. He was arrested shortly afterward.
Bausch was booked into the Volusia County Jail on felony charges of home invasion, robbery, grand theft and abuse of an elderly or disabled adult.
