Oklahoma City, OK (The Weekly Vice) - Crystian Rivera, a 13-year-old Oklahoma boy has been jailed after he allegedly murdered his baby sister because she interrupted a video game he was playing.
According to Oklahoma City police, Rivera was playing a video game when his 9-month-old sister fell nearby and began to cry.
Rivera allegedly became angry when his sister's crying distracted him from the game and caused his character to die.
In retaliation, Rivera reportedly shook the child violently before returning to his game.
Police were dispatched to Deaconess Hospital after the little girl arrived to the emergency room with a serious brain injury and skull fracture.
When police interviewed the girl's parents, the story they provided did not match up with the nature of the child's injuries, according to the arrest report.
Linda Walleska Beletzuy, the child's mother, told investigators that the girl had fallen off her bed that day. She also stated that the child had fallen from her car seat a few days prior, but admitted to not being present for either incident.
As the investigation progressed, detectives learned that the baby's parents had left the child in Rivera's care on the day she was injured. Rivera then reportedly admitted to shaking the baby because he was angry that the child had disrupted his video game.
River has been booked into jail on a charge of first-degree murder.
The baby girl died from her injuries on August 19.
