Evita Williams Won't Be Receiving A Christmas Card From The In-Laws This Year

Altomonte Springs, Florida (The Weekly Vice) - Evita Williams, a 24-year-old Florida woman was jailed Saturday after she allegedly broke into her in-law's home, stole the family's dog and then beat it to death with a baseball bat.

According to the Seminole County Sheriff's Office, deputies were first notified when Daniel and Sherrie Williams reported the theft of their dog, Ginger, from their home on Thursday.

The 14-year-old Golden Retriever/Labrador Retriever mix had been in poor health, but recently improved, according to Sheriffs Office spokesperson, Kim Cannaday.

Investigators received an anonymous tip that the couple's daughter-in-law, Evita Williams, was involved in the dog's theft and eventual death.

Investigators say Evita broke into her in-law's home, carried the dog out to the back yard, covered her with a blanket and then beat her to death with a baseball bat. Evita then allegedly took the dog's body to Altmonte Springs where she disposed of the body in a dumpster.

During questioning, Evita told detectives that she killed the dog because it had bitten her 4-year-old son.

Deputies searched for the dog's carcass, however the dumpster had already been emptied. They went to the in-law's home and discovered evidence that corroborated the stories told to them by Evita and the anonymous tipster.

Evita Williams was booked into the Seminole County Jail on charges of grand theft, burglary and animal cruelty. Her bail was set at $1,200.

Evita Williams' husband, Richard Williams was also taken into custody after investigators determined that he had stolen several electronics items from his parents home, which he then sold to a local pawn shop. His bail has been set at $2,100.
