Burlington, N. C. (The Weekly Vice) - Last week, we introduced you to John Simister, a New York man who managed to get two DUI's within a ten hour period.
As incredible as that may sound, that case is old news thanks to a new challenger in the multi-DUI catagory.
Eleanor Anderson Thompson, a 55-year-old North Carolina woman was jailed Friday after she allegedly managed to receive two DUI arrests within a six-hour period.
According to police, an officer stopped Thompson at around 3:30 p.m. after she allegedly failed to yield to a fire truck that had activated it's emergency lights and siren.
A breath test would later show her blood alcohol content to be .32. Four times the legal limit for operating a motor vehicle in North Carolina.
Thompson was charged with DUI, driving without a license, failing to yield to emergency vehicles and using a false license tag.
She was processed for the DUI and then released to a sober adult.
Investigators say Thompson was stopped again at around 9 p.m. the same day after a Mebane police officer observed her driving recklessly and swerving across the center-line.
After failing a roadside field sobriety test, Thompson was administered a breath test which showed her blood alcohol content at .30. Still at almost four times the legal limit.
She was booked into the Alamance County Jail on a second charge of DUI. Her bail was set at $2,500.
