Loxahatchee, FL (The Weekly Vice) - Tina Penland, 41, and her son's girlfriend Christina Lenna, 21, were arrested after Penland rolled up on a traffic stop and refused to let a deputy arrest her son's girlfriend.
According to the Palm Beach Sheriff's Office, a deputy pulled Lenna over after she was clocked traveling 70 mph in a 55 miles-per-hour-zone. Lenna's boyfriend was the passenger in the vehicle.
After learning that Lenna had been driving on a suspended driver's license, the deputy asked her to step out of the car so that he could place her under arrest. Lenna reportedly stalled, digging through her purse and fumbling with her sandals.
A short time later, Penland pulled up to the scene with her boyfriend, hopped out of the car and demanded to know why Lenna was being arrested. Although the deputy told her numerous times to remain in the car, Penland persisted in quizzing the deputy about the legality of the traffic stop and shouting that she "was not going anywhere."
The deputy placed Penland in the backseat of his patrol car, however, she lowered the window and climbed out. She then jumped into her car and told her boyfriend to "start driving."
When the deputy caught up to the vehicle, he pulled Penland out of the car and placed her in handcuffs.
Lenna was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail on charges of driving on a suspended license, possessing drug paraphernalia and resisting arrest. She was released without bond.
Penland was charged with resisting arrest, fleeing an officer and escape. Her bail was set at $6,000.
