Manatee County, Florida (The Weekly Vice) - Melissa Willis, a 30-year-old Florida woman was jailed Monday after she allegedly left her child with a complete stranger and then didn't return for two days.
According to Police, Willis knocked on a stranger's apartment door at about 9 a.m. Saturday morning and told the man inside that her car's AC system needed repair. She asked the man to watch the boy while she attended to her car, and the man agreed.
Investigators say the man contacted the Safe Child Coalition after Willis had not returned for several hours. She was arrested after she returned to the man's apartment on Monday to pick the child up.
Willis was booked into the Manatee County Jail on a charge of child neglect. She continued to be held on Wednesday without bail.
