Ernesto Sanchez And Melinda Ramey Had A Permanent Solution For Bed Wetting

Pickens County, South Carolina (The Weekly Vice) - Ernesto Sanchez, a 31-year-old South Carolina man was jailed after he allegedly burned a 5-year-old boy with a kerosene heater for wetting the bed. Police say the burn was so bad, it will leave the boy's hand permanently scarred and deformed.

According to police, an investigation was launched when a relative reported seeing the boy's hand severely burned.

Investigators say Sanchez, who is not the child's father, placed the little boy's hand on a kerosene heater as punishment for wetting the bed. The child's mother, 24-year-old Melinda Ramey, was arrested because she did not intervene or report the abuse.

The burns on the child's hand were large and will result in permanent scarring and disfigurement, according to the arrest affidavit.

Sanchez was booked into easy street on one count of child abuse. His bond was set at $25,000.

Ramey was booked on a charge of abuse, allowing another person to inflict great bodily harm upon a child. She is being held on a $10,000 bond.
