New Port Richey, Florida (The Weekly Vice) - Betty Jo Tagerson, a 39-year-old Florida woman was jailed Friday after she allegedly drove off in a huff following a fight with a boyfriend, and then crashed into a group of triplets playing in their front yard - killing one and injuring the others.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Tagerson was angry back in November after a heated argument with her boyfriend, Jason Gordon.

Investigators say Tagerson stormed out in a huff, climbed into her Jeep Grand Cherokee and rapidly drove away. The Highway Patrol estimated that within a few moments, Tagerson's Jeep reached speeds of up to 44 mph within 50 paces of her home.

That's when Tagerson reportedly lost control of the vehicle, flattened a mailbox, struck a parked car and then careened into a yard that included five-year-old triplets Delaney, Gabrielle and Isabella Rossman.

The girls' older sister, 10-year-old Victoria Morgan, tried to whisk the girls away, but there wasn't enough time. Delaney and Gabriella were struck by the oncoming vehicle.

The girls were rushed to St. Joseph's Hospital in Tampa where Gabriella was treated for two broken clavicles, a broken pelvis, a broken right light leg, a collapsed lung, several broken ribs and internal bleeding. She spent most of a two week period in the hospital under a medically induced coma.

Delaney, however, was not so lucky. She was declared dead the next morning.

Tagerson was thrown from the vehicle, which continued to roll into a van parked in the family's driveway. Although the accident happened on November 5th, Tagerson was not arrested and officially charged until last week.

In the meantime, she appeared in court back in February on accusations that she stole $19,000 from a doctor's office where she worked as an office manager.

She was booked into the Pasco County Jail on charges of vehicular homicide and reckless driving, causing serious bodily injury. She was released after posting a mere $15,000 bond.

Tagerson and her boyfriend apparently worked things out, as Mr. Gordon was reportedly in court asking the judge to reduce Tagerson's bail. His request was denied.

As of last week, the little girls' parents say they've accumulated some $118,000 in medical expenses treating the girls.

A trust fund has been set up at Fifth Third Bank in the name of Triplets Memorial Fund. Donations may be rendered at any Fifth Third Bank or mailed directly to 12231 U.S. 19 M T42366, Bayonet Point, Florida 34667.
