Marion County, Florida (The Weekly Vice) - Rhonda Gail Bass, a 49-year-old Marion County inmate earned additional charges after she allegedly arrived to jail to begin serving her sentence with a "body cavity" full of pills.
According to the Marion County Sheriff's Office, Bass had arrived to the Marion County Jail after violating probation on a battery charge when corrections officers discovered she had packed for the trip.
Investigators say a strip search revealed that she had packed 62 pills into two condoms which were then placed inside an undisclosed body cavity. Officers also found pills sewn into the hem of her pants and into the lining of her bra.
She reportedly told officers that she hid the pills because she "was afraid she wouldn't have access to them at the jail"
In additional to her parole violation for battery, Bass was charged with smuggling contraband into a detention facility.
