Perkins Township, Ohio (The Weekly Vice) - Nicole Scott, a 27-year-old Perkins Township woman was jailed after she allegedly pulled herself over for DUI after mistaking a Skate World neon sign as patrol car lights.
According to the Perkins Township Police Department, a motorist called police after noticing a black Dodge Avenger on the side of the road that appeared to be stuck in a snow bank.
When the motorist stopped to assist, an intoxicated female was found sitting alone in the driver's seat. The driver admitted to the witness that she thought the neon lights from a nearby Skate World sign were flashing police lights - so she pulled over and became stuck as a result.
When officers arrived on the scene, Scott claimed that a man named Ray was the real driver, but that he ran off, leaving her at the scene. Officers didn't find foot prints in the snow to corroborate the woman's story.
Scott refused to take a sobriety tests, insisting that she was not the driver - that the real driver's name was "Samantha." When police asked for the name again some time later, the woman claimed the driver's name was "Courtney" instead. Police had enough when she again claimed that a friend named "Brittany" was driving.
A half bottle of Michelob Ultra was recovered from the vehicle.
Scott was booked into the Erie County Jail and was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence and having an open container. Her car was impounded and towed away from the scene.
