Didier Jambart - Sues Drug Company, Claims Medication Turned Him Into A Compulsive Gambler And Gay Sex Addict

Nantes, France (The Weekly Vice) - Didier Jambart, a 51-year-old Nantes, France resident has sued pharmaceutical company GlaxoSmithKline, claiming that its medication was responsible for turning him into a compulsive gambler and gay sex addict.

According to court documents, Jambart was prescribed Requip, a drug used to treat Parkinson's disease and restless leg syndrome, in 2003. Soon after beginning the drug treatment, Jambart alleges that his behavior began to change.

Jambart's attorney said his client attempted suicide several times after using the Internet to gamble away his family's life savings. He then alleges that he stole to continue the habit.

Jambart says that he stopped taking the drug in 2005, but by that time had been demoted at work because of the onset of psychological trauma. He also claims the medication forced him to become a gay sex addict - exposing himself on the Internet and beginning a lifestyle of cross-dressing.

Jambart is seeking $610,000 in damages from Glaxo and the neurologist, who he states did not accurately warn him about the drug's potential side effects.
