Trippy Hippy on MySpace
Dexter, Maine (The Weekly Vice) - Want to open a business that's sure to attract police attention? Name it The Trippy Hippy and you won't be waiting long.
Gavin Finnerty, 42, and Alyssa Knowles, 18, were jailed Thursday after officers executed a search warrant on their home and business, netting a cache of marijuana and pills worthy of the Trippy Hippy name.
According to Dexter Police, detectives began an investigation in September after receiving complaints that the couple had used their business to traffic drugs.
The Trippy Hippy, according to it's MySpace page stocks an inventory of marijuana pipes, water bongs, "fetish" movies, 1960's era mugs and t-shirts and - well - lots of marijuana, it would seem.
Investigators reportedly made several drug transactions with the couple, which included marijuana and hydrocodone pills, before serving a search warrant on their home and business.
Maine Drug Enforcement officials (MDEA) had reportedly arranged a large transaction for marijuana with the couple on the day of the bust.
Nope, they apparently didn't have a clue what was about to hit them.
The raid netted almost 2 pounds of marijuana, 12 BuSpar anti-anxiety pills, five Xanax pills, business ledgers (complete with apparent drug transactions), knives and various other drug paraphernalia.
Finnerty was charged with two counts of trafficking marijuana while Knowles was charged with two counts of trafficking marijuana and one count of trafficking hydrocodone, according to police.
