Austin, Texas (The Weekly Vice) - Ted Stewart, a 44-year-old rodeo clown was jailed Friday after he allegedly threatened to burn down a liquor store and kill the employee because the clerk refused to sell him alcohol.
According to police, officers were dispatched after receiving a report that a man resembling a "rodeo clown transvestite" was inside the Twin Liquor retail store, threatening to burn down the building.
Investigators say Stewart, the clown in question, became angry because the store clerk refused to sell him alcohol because he appeared too intoxicated.
Stewart reportedly walked out of the store, but not before threatening to come back, kill the employee and then burn down the building.
Before leaving the premises, Stewart also yelled at the owner of a BBQ stand that was parked in the liquor store parking lot.
"If you're with him, then I'm coming back to burn your place down too," Spencer reportedly shouted.
Police later found Stewart walking down the street wearing clown make up and carrying a Mexican flag.
He was booked into the Travis County Jail on two counts of making terroristic threats and public intoxication. His bail has been set at $10,000.
