Gregory Sanchez Did A Hatchet Job On Bank Robbery - Arrested After Returning To The Robbery Scene To Begin Work Shift

Los Angeles, California (The Weekly Vice) - Gregory Sanchez, a 46-year-old West Covina man was jailed Friday after he robbed a bank wearing pink hospital scrubs, a black wig and a plastic Darth Vader mask. He was arrested hours later when he returned to the SAME location to begin his work shift.

According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Office, Sanchez robbed a bank located inside a Los Angeles Albertson's grocery store. The same store where he was employed as a courtesy clerk.

Investigators say Sanchez entered the store dressed in pink hospital scrubs, a wig and a Darth Vader mask. Sanchez walked up to the Bank of America branch bank inside the store and demanded cash while wielding a hatchet. He then fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Police say Sanchez was arrested when he returned to the store just 3 hours later to begin his shift working as a courtesy clerk at the same store.

"It's not difficult to see where he got the idea to rob the bank," said Sheriff's Capt. Mike Parker.

Detectives did not reveal how they were able to link Sanchez to the robbery.

Sanchez was booked into jail on a charge of bank robbery. His bail was set at $100,000.
