Something About Jennifer Saxton’s Home Bugged Deputies

Spartanburg, South Carolina (The Weekly Vice) - Jennifer Saxton, 23, and her husband Thomas Saxton, 33, were jailed Tuesday after police allegedly discovered their 2-year-old daughter living in a roach motel.... literally.

According to the Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office, a deputy was called to the Carolina Inn motel in Spartanburg for a child welfare check when something about the couple's home bugged him.

Investigators say the deputy entered the motel to find a 2-year-old girl sleeping in a play crib with small black bugs crawling on her.

Other insects were also found crawling throughout the room and inside the couple's refrigerator. Roaches were also found crawling on the bathroom floor.

Deputies found junk piled up everywhere in the motel room along with mold covered dishes in the sink, with bugs crawling on them as well. Bugs were found crawling on counter tops, walls, sinks and the kitchen floor, according to the arrest report.

An exposed pocket knife was found on a table within easy reach of the child, allegedly.

The couple was booked into jail on a charge of child cruelty.
