Iowa City, Iowa (The Weekly Vice) - Jason Kenjar, a 30-year-old Iowa man was jailed Wednesday when he allegedly called cops to report a burglary in his basement, and they found a marijuana grow operation instead.
According to Iowa City Police, officers were called to Kenjar's home after receiving a report of a burglary in process. When police arrived, Kenjar told officers that he thought a burglar was in his basement and had fired a hand gun inside the house in retaliation.
When police arrived on scene, they didn't find a burglar but did find the remains of a marijuana grow operation. When they requested to search the house further, Kenjar refused.
Investigators say police later returned with a search warrant. After searching the home, they allegedly found the marijuana grow operation, 109 grams of prescription marijuana pills and Ecstasy. Kenjar did not reportedly have a license for the marijuana pills.
Kenjar was booked into jail on charges of possessing marijuana while in possession of a firearm, possession of Ecstasy, unlawful possession of a prescription drug and distribution of a taxable substance without a tax stamp.
