Bonnie Usher - Jailed After Fleeing Robbery In Getaway Car With Vanity Plates

Manchester Police Press Release

Manchester, New Hampshire (The Weekly Vice) - Bonnie Usher, a 43-year-old Hooksett woman was jailed Friday morning after she allegedly robbed a pharmacy. She might have gotten away with it except for one small error. The dimwit used a getaway car that displayed personalized vanity plates.

And when we say personalized, we aren't kidding.

According to the Manchester Police Department, Usher entered the Rite Aid pharmacy in Manchester wearing a hooded sweatshirt and a ski mask. She then approached a store clerk, held what was believed to be a gun to the clerk's head, and announced that she was there to rob the store.

She then took an undisclosed amount of cash out of the cash register and fled the scene.

Police say Usher fled to a getaway vehicle that displayed the vanity plate B-USHER. A witness followed the suspect out to the parking lot and was able to take down the vehicle's tag information. Usher was apprehended at her home a short time later.

Investigators say Usher threw several items out of the vehicle as she fled, including a the ski mask she used during the robbery. It was determined that the weapon she used was not a gun, but a painter's knife. Officers were also able to recover cash.

Usher was booked into jail and charged with armed robbery. She is being held in lieu of $60,000 bail.

This was the second time the store has been robbed in three days, but police said they do not believe the cases are related. The Rite Aid was robbed at gunpoint by two men on Tuesday.

Anyone with information about that case is asked to call Manchester police at 603-668-8711.
