Gloucester, MA (The Weekly Vice) - Monique Tavares, a 26-year-old Gloucester woman was charged Thursday after she allegedly cranked up a radio at 4 a.m. and then told police they shouldn't bother arresting her since the court wouldn't do anything about it anyway.
According to Gloucester Police, officers responded to Tavares' home about 3:40 a.m. when a neighbor complained about loud music coming from her home. Officers asked Tavares to end the party she was having and turn down the loud music that was playing. Officers left after Tavares agreed to comply.
Police were called back to the home about 40 minutes later when neighbors claimed the music had resumed. When officers knocked on her door and asked her again to turn down her radio, Tavares reportedly became upset and followed them out to the driveway yelling, "Go arrest some junkies."
Tavares reportedly continued to shout at officers until they finally arrested her.
"I don't know why you guys bother," retorted Tavares as she was being booked into jail. "What's going to happen to me in court? Nothing. I don't get in trouble and nothing happens to me."
She was booked on charges of disturbing the peace.
