Worcester County, Pennsylvania (The Weekly Vice) - Steven Frederick Molin, a 58-year-old Darby man was jailed Wednesday after he allegedly ran over his elderly mother by accident. Ran over her again back accident, and again by accident.
According to the Worcester County Sheriff’s Office, police were called to the scene of a serious motor vehicle accident on Carey Road around midnight on August 31st.
Investigators say paramedics rushed 85-year-old Emily Belle Molin to Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, where she died of injuries sustained from the accident.
Detectives questioned her son, who was driving the car involved in the accident. Molin stated that his mother fell out of the moving vehicle, and he accidentally ran over her when he backed up to look for her.
Investigators believe evidence at the scene contradicts Molin's story, as it is believed he was traveling up to 40 miles per hour when he ran over the woman. Investigators also believe Molin drove over his mother two or three times after she purportedly "fell out" of the car.
Police believe Molin deliberately pushed his mother out of the car and have identified a motive for the murder.
Molin was booked into the Worcester County Jail on charges of first-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter. He is being held without bond.
